POOJA VASTRAKAR CHILDHOOD AND EARLY LIFE

pooja vastrakar videosVastrakar began playing cricket with the boys in her Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, neighborhood. She eventually began going to the stadium to practice net batting, where her coach, Ashutosh Shrivastava, discovered her talent and began her formal training. She started out batting, but when she joined the Madhya Pradesh team, she also started fast bowling. She was a member of the India Green Women Squad when she was 15 years old. She suffered a knee injury while Vastrakar was fielding in a 2016 senior women’s domestic match. She had surgery to fix the anterior cruciate ligament tear as a result, which put her national call-up in jeopardy. In 2018, the Challenger Trophy was a major factor in Vastrakar’s selection for India’s tour of South Africa.

Vastrakar’s father is a Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) employee who has retired. Exactly when she was 10 years old, her mother passed on. She is the youngest of seven siblings and has two brothers and four sisters.

Even though Vastrakar had always wanted to play cricket, she broke her finger just a few days before playing for her state’s women’s team. As a result, she was forced to play bowls. However, as her finger healed, she resumed hitting big sixes, her specialty. India received her “Chota Hardik Pandya” in this manner.

The Shahdol Divisional Cricket Association was Vastrakar’s previous team. On March 9, 2013, she made her domestic cricket debut. She made her domestic debut against Odisha in a Twenty20 match on that day.

INTERNATIONAL LEVEL

Vastrakar was expected to make the Indian team for the first time in approximately three and a half years after making her domestic debut. The West Indian side was coming to India in November 2016, and it was nearly 100% sure that Vastrakar would get her to call up.

She did, however, accidentally twist her knee while fielding a month prior to the tour. The anterior cruciate ligament was strained as a result of that. Her coach, Srivastava, stated to FirstPost regarding the injury, “I thought she might not be able to bowl as well.” However, she would always be upbeat when I talked to her. During this time in her life, Vastrakar received assistance from Sandeep Maheshwari’s videos.

A year and a half later, she made her debut against South Africa in Potchefstroom. In that match, she played sparingly and gave up 39 runs in eight overs.

However, in the wickets column, she had nothing to show for it. A few days later, she made her T20I debut against the same opponents at the same venue. She did, however, defeat the threatening Sune Luus this time. She yielded 34 runs in her four overs.

POOJA VASTRAKAR CONTROVERSIES

pooja vastrakar wikipediaIn a close decision, the third umpire ruled that Pooja Vastrakar had been run out with the bat on the player. It occurred on the penultimate ball of the Indian innings against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup. Pooja decided to run a double after driving the ball off-side.

Due to the throw of Kavisha Dilhari, wicketkeeper Anushka Sanjeewani attempted to catch her short of the crease when she was returning for the second run. To everyone’s surprise, the third umpire decided that Vastrakar was out after the leg umpire referred the decision upstairs.

It appeared to be a toss-up, but many believed that the TV umpire could have given the batter the benefit of the doubt, which is typically followed in tight decisions, particularly run-outs. Yuvraj Singh, like a number of his admirers, felt the same way.
